Bahá’u’lláh’s brother’s heart turned cold against Him. The green eyed monster, jealousy, festered in Mirza Yahyah, this monster took possession of him, he lied, spread false rumours, sowed the seeds of doubt and suspicion in the hearts of the Bábís .What was Bahá’u’lláh to do? Early one morning, telling no-one, dressing in rough travellers clothes, Bahá’u’lláh took a little coarse bread and left His home. He travelled on foot to Sulaymaniyyih, in the mountains of Kurdistan, so the fire of His brother’s jealousy could die down. He found the most remote spot at the top of the mountains, a place the peasants came to only twice a year, once to sow and once to reap. Sleeping in the open or in a rough peasant shelter, many a night He had no rest, and many a day He had no food. Through sunshine and rain He walked, sometimes with tears of anguish, sometimes in utter peace. When He had to, He would walk to the villages and the people would give him a cup of milk or a handful of rice.
